Hair

In the kitchen there are many things that can be useful for hair care. Eggs, honey and lemon juice are just a few of them. Avocado, apple cider vinegar and even baking soda are used by many to keep their hair clean and healthy.

Eggs

Eggs can be used to condition the hair. Beat the egg both white and yolk, or just the white if you prefer, and apply to clean damp hair. Leave in the hair for about 20 minutes before rinsing out with cool water. don’t use hot water or the egg will coagulate creating a bit of a mess.

A variant of this is to mix some yoghurt with the egg before applying.

Honey

Honey will leave your hair soft and shiny. Mix some honey with water to thin it down. Rub into wet hair. Leave for 15-30 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Honey can be teamed with apple cider vinegar. This acts like a conditioner.

Honey could be mixed with either olive oil or coconut oil as a conditioning agent. Slightly warm the mixture and work into wet hair as you would normal shampoo.

Honey is sometimes used as a lightening agent so be aware of this before using it.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is also used to lighten hair color, however it does have other benefits for hair. It is used to strengthen and condition the hair and make it soft. Some people find it useful as a dandruff treatment.

After you have washed and rinsed your hair rub a little lemon juice into the hair.
