Home Remedies for Blackheads and Pimples

Here are a few remedies that specifically target blackheads or pimples.

  • Make a poultice of cooked carrots.  Cook the carrots and mash up to make a paste.  Place on the affected area and cover with a hot compress.  Leave for about 20-30 minutes.  Apply each night until problem is resolved.

  • Add half  a teaspoon of baking soda to your liquid soap.  Rub gently into the problem areas such as nose or chin.  Rinse off with cold water.  This is a way of getting rid of blackheads.

  • Mix 1 teaspoon of coriander juice and a pinch of turmeric powder.  Apply to the problem areas of the face each night.

  • Make a paste from powdered, roasted pomegranate and fresh lemon juice.  This is useful for blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and acne.

  • Use a paste of nutmeg mixed with either water or milk to treat blackheads.

  • Drinking nettle tea can help to improve skin problems.  Four cups per day is said to give the full benefit and can be a powerful home remedy for acne.

  • Mix equal amounts of groundnut oil with fresh lime juice.  Apply and leave for 10-15 minutes before washing off.  Use to prevent blackheads, acne and pimples from forming.

  • Combine fresh lime juice and a glass of boiled milk.  Use as a face wash for blackheads, pimples, acne and cracked skin.

  • Grated potatoes applied as a poultice can be used to treat pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, boils and wrinkles.

  • A paste of ground radish seeds and water applied to the face can be used to remove blackheads.

  • Make a paste of either oatmeal or almond powder and rose water.  Rub it on with your fingertips.  Leave it to dry for 15 minutes before rinsing with cold water.  This works well in getting rid of blackheads.

  • Use one tablespoon black pepper powder and add enough curd to make a thick paste.  Apply to the area with blackheads and let it dry.  Wash off after 5-10 minutes.  This is effective in getting rid of blackheads.

  • Make a paste using 1 teaspoon rice flour and 1 teaspoon curd.  Rub this into the blackhead area.  When it is dry wash it off with water.

  • Mix cornstarch and vinegar to a paste.  Put on the blackhead area and leave 15-30 minutes.  Wash off with warm water and a wash cloth.

  • Beat egg white.  Add 1 teaspoon of honey.  Apply to face with a cotton swab.  Rinse it off with warm water after 30 minutes.  This is useful for dark spots and blackheads.

  • Get an empty egg shell and peel out the skin or membrane.  Place this wetside down on the blackhead.  Leave until dry.  As it dries it will start to draw the blackhead out.

It is surprising how many different remedies there are for blackheads, pimples and acne.  Many of them use ordinary substances that are easy and cheap to obtain.  Experiment with those that you feel comfortable with.  If you find something that works well share it with others who have the same problem.  It could be the solution they have been looking for.
