Skin

Our skin is our largest organ. As such we really need to take good care of it. Not just so that we look good but also for the good of our overall health. What we choose not to put on our skin can be just as important a decision as what we choose to put on it.
While you can put things on your skin that you wouldn’t eat it is perhaps a good idea to ask yourself if benefits outweigh any downside when deciding what products to use on your skin.
There are many things that are good foods that are also good for our skins. One of these is avocado. It is believed that applying avocado oil to the skin gives a significant increase in the amount of collagen in the skin.
Collagen is important as it increases the strength and elasticity of the skin. As we age the collagen decreases, thus producing wrinkles.
Avocados contain, among other nutrients that are good for the skin, vitamin C and magnesium. Both of these are necessary to produce collagen.
Avocados are also rich in antioxidants, the precursor to vitamin A, vitamin E and the amino acid glutamine. These are all useful in helping the skin to maintain health. Avocados, good on the inside and good on the outside. Either way they are a boost for a healthy skin.
