Looking for a Dandruff Remedy?
Dandruff! If you have it you will know it, that itchy scalp, the flakes that fall to your shoulders.
It can be very difficult to get rid of dandruff. Here are some things to try. One of them may work for you.
-
Apple Cider Vinegar – Dilute the apple cider vinegar with water in equal parts. Massage it into the scalp. This will help in restoring the correct PH level to your scalp. Also if there are bacteria or fungal problems it will help with that.
-
Apple cider vinegar can also be dabbed on to the hair with cotton balls between shampooing if needed.
-
Rosemary and Chamomile – Use either about 3 sprigs of fresh rosemary or 1 teaspoon dried rosemary and the 3 chamomile tea bags. Boil them up together. When cool, strain and use as a rinse in your hair.
-
Onions – Rub onion on the scalp.
-
Garlic – Eating garlic contributes to overall good health. Applying to the scalp can help to fight dandruff.
-
Lemon juice – Rinse some lemon juice through the hair after washing.
-
Lime juice – This can be used like the lemon juice. Add a teaspoon of lime juice to the last rinsing water.
-
Fenugreek seeds – Grind seeds to a powder (or buy fenugreek powder). Mix with a little water to make a paste. Apply to the scalp and leave for ½ to 1 hour before washing out.
It is generally said that brushing the hair daily improves the circulation to the scalp and helps to remove flakiness. Some say that letting the sun shine directly on the head helps control dandruff. Perhaps that is because it increases the vitamin D levels in the body.
Wash your hair regularly in the shampoo of your choice. Some people find that a shampoo that contains tea tree oil works well for them.
